In a mesh topology, each node is connected to every other node in the network. There is always more than one way that data can get to a node in this type of network. Multiple links are required in a mesh network. As the number of nodes increases, the number of links required increases exponentially. For example, five nodes need ten links, ten nodes would need 45 links, and 100 nodes would need 4,950 links.
